Nightfall in Comuna 13, located on the southern edge of the Andes that surround Medellin. It was once amongst the most dangerous neighborhoods in the city.
Recently, the area has experienced a transformation. Urban escalators and a “sky lift” metro-cable have given poorer Comuna residents safe access to the city to find work.

Youth from the comuna have been given access to new schools, libraries and recreation spaces. NGOs and community groups assist in providing young people alternatives.
Muralists from other parts of Colombia and even international artists visit the neighborhood to contribute.
